After almost six years living & working in the United Arab Emirates, it's about time to grasp for new opportunities.. While preparing my exit stategy from Abu Dhabi, I was sure I wanted to take my Jeep with me. Putting it into a container and shipping it to Germany would sure have been an option, but I soon figured it wouldn't be as much of a challenge as unleashing the beast and driving it all the way to Europe by myself.
Soon, what I first thought was a faint contemplation transformed into an actual ambitious scheme..
Not only the trip itself, but also the extensive preparation would reveal itself as a challenge. How do I get the export certificate? What about the export license plates? What about visas for the countries I'll be traveling through? Where to get an international insurance? There are so many things to be considered which involve lots of arrangements, paperwork & bureaucracy..
And as usual, things don't often go as planned, but at least it's good to actually have a plan.
